A Local Growers Market

Produce Auctions are growing throughout the country. A produce auction is a wholesale market for fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers. Growers bring their produce to the auction where it is auctioned to wholesale buyers. The buyers retail the produce to the general public at their own locale. Buyers bid what they willing to pay for a given lot of produce, and then the highest bidder pays the auction house. The auction house then pays the grower. A commission is deducted by the auction house to pay for the running of the auction.

Maybe a Produce Auction can be created in Potter County to support local farmers. Until then, here is a list of regional Produce Auctions that are within 150 miles (generally considered local produce):
