“Marketing on the Internet” posted on August 4, 2010 by wooleylot listed our internet-based agricultural advertising. We added a new one.
Local Dirt is a integrated platform for buying, selling, and finding local food. It is easy to use and offers a free way to market and sell our farm products in the local area, along with a new free system to find buyers and manage our price sheets. The best features are that this website provides a way for farms to profile their farms, and more importantly it also provides an automated way for farmers to create price sheets, manage inventory and generate purchase orders via shopping cart and sales reports.

How did we find out about Local Dirt? We attended the free Webinar “Local Dirt: Beyond Marketing: Find Buyers, Sell Online, Source and Buy Product…Yourself”, by Heather Hilleren and Kassie Rizzo from Local Dirt on 15 March. If you missed it, you can view the archived webinar at “eXtension”. We have found the webinars offered at eXtension to be very useful information. These webinars are free and easy to attend. They use Web conferencing to conduct live presentations via the Internet. In a web conference, each participant sits at his or her own computer and is connected to other participants via the internet.
