We would like to welcome you to Wooleylot Farm. As an additional farm activity, we grow garlic. We started growing our garlic in 2006 with only a dozen garlic bulbs. In the summer of 2009, we began to sell our garlic commercially at our local farmers market and to retail customers. In the spring of 2010, we have over 5000 bulbs growing.
Our garlic operation onto our farm located in Homer Township in Potter County, Pennsylvania with tillable land available for growing garlic on this farm. These farm fields have been inactive for more than 20 years.
Our challenges are many: establish ourselves in the specialty crop marketplace, develop a sustainable soil conservation program, improve our soil using only organic amendments and gain USDA organic certification.
We plan to chronicle our progress on this web log.
